Female Plant // 2nd Try at Clone

So it turns out my speaker box plant is a female. I decided to cut it's tallest node branch and try to make a clone of it, mainly just to make some more space for flowering.

It's placed under a 100watt 6500K Sun God Komee Plant Blaster CFL which hooks into a standard household e27 socket. I'm not going to put a humidity dome on it this time to see how she does. I currently have it under 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness.

Do Not Buy SMD LED // Trimmed Speaker Box Grow

So my closet grow was a complete waste of time. The SMD LED is definitely "experimental"... the plant ended up being super stretched and limping over with hardly any foliage weighing it down. This is the last time I'll be growing with LED... my USB LED grow, I had to use 10x the recommended light for a "decent" vegetative grow... I ended up switching that one back to CFL too. I killed the closet SMD LED plant... what a shame.

I also trimmed up the bottom of my speaker box grow (original plant) so more energy will focus on the higher nodes. Here's a couple pics...

Unknown Strain Flower Week 1

Today is week 1 of my speaker box flower. It's still not showing any sex so I'm not too sure if it's male or female. I'm assuming this will be a 10 to 12 week flower strain. It's growing a lot still so if worse gets to worse, I'll move it to my closet under a 100w 2700K CFL.

Closet Grow Veg Week 0

Today the starter leaves showed up on my 80 watt SMD LED closet grow. It officially marks day 0 of a 6 week vegetative cycle. This is an unknown strain like the other one. My clone was a lost cause... it wasn't rooting at all.

Flowering Start

I started my plant on its flowering cycle today... normally I would have waited until tomorrow but I'll be with my dad for the weekend. They say plants stretch about 3x so I'm giving it lots of space to grow. I'm flowering 3 weeks earlier than I originally thought.... this is because with my last plant I was growing with cheap USB powered flexible necked LED lights before switching to CFL, so I lost a lot of vegetative growth because they were flowering lights. I'll try to get home tomorrow to take a pic of the plants progress but in case not, here's a couple pics of the new lights and plant.

My photo period went from 78w (300w equivalent) 6500K 1600 lumen CFL going 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness...

To a 69w (300 equivalent) 2700K 1600 lumen CFL going 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness.

Veg Week 4

Today is week 4 of vegetative growth... I'm going to veg it for another 2 or 3 weeks before I flower. A bit sooner than I originally expected.

Free Seeds!!

I found some seeds in a twenty sack I got today... they look quite nice and should have no problem sprouting. I germinated two of the six seeds so if those come up within the next few days, I'll replace my SMD LED closet clone with a seedling. I put the remainder of the seeds in a small Ziploc bag and placed them in a dry drawer for later use.

7 Drops Per Watering

I started my plant on 7 drops per 500ml watering. This is over-dosing but I find the plant does well on it and doesn't burn... so why not? I'll keep it on 7 drops until 2 weeks before harvest when I flush it.

Another Trim

I trimmed up my plant again and gave it a bit of a lollipop. I just got rid of all the bottom growth so more energy can focus on bud sites. I'm quite impressed with how this plant has been doing compared to my other plants despite being hacked apart...

Bare Bones Trim

I trimmed my plant today. I noticed a couple nodes coming up that were both being blocked by a leaf so I trimmed it up. The plant looks butchered but it should help more bud sites develop closer to the light...

Closet Clone

So I made a cutting off the bottom set of my speaker box grow to try out with my new 80 watt LED... I cut the stem a little short so I really hope there is enough still to make roots. I used an old  see-through microwavable container that I've been wetting down as a humidity dome. This is my first time cloning so we'll see how things go. If I mess this one up I'll have one more node I can try cloning. Hopefully things will be looking up when I remove the dome in a week.

New 80 watt LED Closet Grow

I just got my new 80 watt 800 piece LED e27 (standard light socket) grow bulb which ended up costing me about $35 on eBay. I made a cutting off my plant so I'm going to try growing a clone with it in my closet. Here's the pics...

Today is week 3 of a 8 week veg cycle. I topped the plant so lower set node growth has been doing quite well. It's sort of an odd shaped plant right now but things will even out...
